The Team
Synergy| Joana (Founder) is the creative maker, Micha (Co-Founder) is the strategic consolidator. We met at the University of Oldenburg and are both visionaries with extensive experience in international education, media development and government projects as coaches, consultants and learning designers.
Joana has developed the first all-digital audio studio in Southeast Asia, taught interactive media design at Temasek Polytechnic, consulted for the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore, and served as an expert on digital education for a working group of the EU Commission. She also developed UI designs and marketing concepts for the Franco-American startup ‚Skydoor‘.
Micha has worked as a trainer, coach and lecturer in a variety of educational contexts and institutions. More recently, Micha has focused on the use of AI and learning analytics in higher education at ifib GmbH and has advised various public institutions such as state media institutions, municipal educational institutions and ministries in Bremen and North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Team
Synergy. The founding team met at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg, where they developed the innovation space ‚Medienfaktur‘, which was awarded ‚Best Practice‘ by the German Rectors‘ Conference (HRK) in 2018 as one of the ten best digital innovation projects in Germany. Joana is the creative maker, Micha the strategic consolidator, which makes for an energetic mix.

As educational consultants and learning designers, we grew increasingly frustrated with LMSs and authoring tools that delivered online content in a superficial, industrialized way. Drawing on the educational philosophies of John Dewey, Maria Montessori, Albert Bandura, and many others, we’ve created a visualized, process-based taxonomy to model real learning experiences. NEXTGEN.LX serves to re-humanize and re-socialize organizational learning. The technology to develop process-based learning did not exist, until now.
